yes, the long-awaited vaccine entered my bloodstream yesterday at 5 pm.. as steve martin humorously remarked, "good news/bad news.

good news: i just got vaccinated!

bad news: i got it because i'm 75.

i had the oxford vaccine 10 days ago--no side effects--i feel fine. i recommend it.

Are the Creative days 7000 years long?

where does the idea that the creative days of the genesis account were 7,000 years long come from?.

genesis doesn't suggest that they were specific time periods, but shows that one "day" extended into others.

i feel that the clue is in the words; "and there was an evening and there was a morning, a first day.

the 7000 year day thing was the one thing i just could not accept--or get any explanation for it. it was pure rubbish. but that was 50 years ago.

after many years absence from any contact with the watchtower cult--it came as a surprise to find out it had quietly faded away when i found the world wide web of ex jw's.

1975 wasn't presumed by the witnesses, it was presumed by some witnesses who based their life choices on rumors and hearsay rather than what was written, and they were weeded out

oh good...thanks for clearing that up. i was an active jw in the late 60's / early 70's and i can assure you it was anything but rumours or hearsay..although a lot of dubs did take it to heart and planned their lives and finances on it .

As for being weeded out--the district servant who spoke openly about 1975 ended his career at watchtower HQ in the UK.

Letter from local Kingdom Hall

today l received a hand written letter from my local kingdom hall .

l say my local as the one nearest me , for those who don't know me l am not nor have ever been a jw .

as this letter was addressed " to the householder " l assume that everyone in the area ( tamworth , staffordshire ) has been sent one .

its so easy to get the time in letter writing ( or typing )

take as long as you like composing your letter--lets say it takes one hour.

then print off ten copies.

so thats one hour--plus ten copies--each valued at one hour. Total--11 hours to report this month. Happy days.

Does the Jehovah's Witnesses fall into category of being an organized cult ?

i think it does especially being that this organization is rigidly structured itself on formulated doctrines from a top hierarchy of men which are strictly enforced, among other reasons.

what cults are.

a cult is not necessarily a religious group, although religious cults are common, including breakaway sects from more mainstream faiths.
